Maria's bio: Maria Sendik was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome in 2003 at the age of 12.
Her interests and hobbies include knitting, sewing, reading, and writing in her journal. She is also a proud athlete for Special Olympics. She enjoys playing softball, volleyball, basketball, and swimming.
Helping other young girls who have also been diagnosed with Turner syndrome and educating others is what inspired her to write this children’s book, The Tiny Butterfly. She is very grateful to have her family’s love and support. She is very proud to be a part of the Turner Syndrome Foundation.
